2015 Goals

Do you set goals for the New Year? I usually set at least one goal, sometimes several. This year I'm planning a few triathlons and shooting towards doing an olympic distance, with a lake swim YIKES! My first one is planned for April (pool swim)!

What goals have you set for 2015?

So warm

It is so warm here in Victoria currently. While my ideal winter is a snow covered trail what we are getting here right now is rain, more rain and a side of rain.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve and many people spend it running about getting last minute shopping done, I know my husband does!

My favourite part of today is the end when we snuggle into the house, watch a movie or old Christmas cartoon, maybe have some hot chocolate. Relax.

What is your favourite thing to do on Christmas Eve?

Skating on Lakes

Something about skating on a snow covered lake makes me smile. When I worked at Spruce Meadows in Calgary many many moons ago one of our favourite night time activities was to skate on the pond if it was frozen.

It's still one of my favourite things to do. If we ever get enough of a freeze here in Victoria I'm going to flood our riding arena and make a skating rink!

Next time it snows

Next time it snows I think I'll try taking some photos of the horses. This idea is one I'm going to try.

Winter Solstice

It's no secret that I love winter and pretty much everything about it. Today is winter solstice, and the first official day of winter. I often sit today and dream of snow. This photo reminds me of the snow laden roads we often encounter when we head out to our property in Stettler. One year I will spend the whole winter out there.

Just because it's pretty

Could you imagine hiking through a snow laden woods to stumble upon this tree?

How sweet

This picture reminds me of some good friends barn. I'm always jealous of them come snow season, they live in Princeton now and get way more snow than Victoria does.

Vintage Christmas Tree Goodness

A box came the other day and I was giddy with excitement. I was pretty sure I knew what was in there and was dying to see it!

A little peek confirmed it was in fact what I thought it was, a precious vintage Christmas Tree!

How sweet! I friend (Karen) had posted a picture of one on her Face Book page and I had commented on how much I missed seeing one. She mentioned she see's them all the time at estate auctions and loe and behold she found me one! If you look closely you'll see two of the lights are birds! I just love it, it makes me smile every time I look at it.

One of many

Anyone who knows me knows I love winter, snow especially. This winter season I've seen a lot of pictures of Christmas tree's in the snow on social media. I'm probably going to be sharing a lot of my favourites.

This one looks like a  quite place to contemplate. A place to sit and watch the snow fall?

Below Zero

This week I will be submitting to Below Zero and event held in Quebec in February. It's a artist residency for one week for artists wanting to experience Canadian winter up close and personal. Anyone who knows me winter is my season, I love everything about it. Snow fall makes everything magical and this is something I just could not pass up applying for. Wish me luck, if I get accepted I'd be over the moon.

12 week program with Coach Lindsey

My program with Coach Lindsey is going really well. I find it really nice to clear my head and let someone else handle and balance my work outs for the week. I also find I hold myself more accountable when I have to report in, plus I like those little green blocks that show up when I complete a scheduled work out!

Lindsey is offering a 12 week program in the New Year and I recommend it, get out there, get it done.

You will not regret it.

Unless it's pouring rain. Even then it's more like complaining and whining, but no regret.
